FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please read prior to booking your Brow Appointment.

It is strongly advised, for new clients to book their appointments at least 3-4 months in advance of vacations, weddings, and special occasions. This will allow adequate time for healing of both your initial appointment and touch-up appointment 6-8 weeks later.

As well, having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase sensitivity and discomfort during your procedure. Therefore, please avoid booking your appointment during this time.

In order to achieve the best results, it is extremely important to follow the pre and post care instructions.

WHAT IS OMBRE/POWDER BROWS?

Ombré and powder techniques use a machine to create a shaded graduation from light to dark color. Looks range from soft & natural, to bold & makeup look. Both techniques are extremely customizable to the clients' needs. Lasts 1-3 years.

DOES IT HURT?
We get mixed reviews on pain. Everyone has a different level of sensitivity so topical anesthetics are applied during the treatment to alleviate any sensation or discomfort. Some clients naturally feel one brow sorer than the other. You will hear a scratch noise throughout the session. Music is usually played during the procedure, however, feel free to bring your own earphones and music to distract you.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The procedure takes roughly about 4-5 hours, sometimes more sometimes less. Please allow a solid 4-hour window for your appointment.

WILL I NEED A TOUCH-UP?
All results will vary per person depending on their skin, blood type, lifestyle, existing hair, bone structure, face shape, any medications taken, the number of times the area had been worked on, and aftercare. We cannot guarantee successful results on 100% of our clients because everyone’s skin takes the pigments differently to permanent makeup - using a pencil or powder may still be needed. In order to ensure the best outcome, we recommend a second session within 1-2 months after your initial appointment to achieve the desired result.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
It will last as long as it’s maintained. How long brows last will vary depending on your skin type by how well your skin takes in pigment during the session and how dark you are willing to go depending on the scenario. After a touch up, brows are expected to last from 1 to 3 years depending on the shade of choice you prefer, skin retention, time in the sun, and daily skin routines (more exfoliating products, faster the fade).

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TOUCH-UPS?
In order to keep your eyebrow tattoo results looking fresh, we recommend a touch-up every a year or two.

CAN I SCHEDULE MY PERFECTION SESSION SOONER THAN 4 WEEKS?

Perfection Sessions cannot be done earlier than 4 weeks after the initial session. This is to ensure the skin has enough time to heal and pigment enough time to settle into the skin. A Perfection Session prior to 4 weeks would risk scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.

CAN YOU GUARANTEE YOUR WORK?
No. How the skin will react is different for everyone and many factors are to be taken into consideration. Skin type, age, scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products used, etc. all play a key role in your results, which is why it is important to know that more than one touch-up may be required. I always make sure that your face is important to me and I will act in accordance with my experience and expertise to give you my absolute best. But there are no guarantees in this industry. Please think long and hard before you decide to go for it.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE IT?
Although an ombré shading tattoo is considered to be semi-permanent, the procedure does allow flexibility for color or shape change to some extent.
We will be working together to create a shape that fits your unique facial structure. I will work closely with you to ensure that you are satisfied with the proposed technique. I will allow you to have as much control over the procedure as possible, so there’s very little room for error.
I request that you carefully look at the shape before we start the service. Once the decision is made, the look you chose will be final. During your touch-up, small adjustments can be made and we will adjust the colour, fill in every empty space and touch up what needs to be darker to improve the evenness of colour throughout the brows and to maintain the colour for longer-lasting brows. This touch-up does not cover changing the shape of your brows in any way, shape, or form.

WHAT IS THE APPOINTMENT LIKE?

Step 1: Consultation
Upon arrival, we will discuss the medical history form and consent/waiver form that you have fill out. Following, a consultation is held to discuss your brow goals and particular case in detail. Once I gather a solid understanding of your vision, we will go over all of the steps to ensure you are 100% comfortable and confident to get started.

Step 2: Photos
With your consent, I will take photos of your bare brows. This will give you the chance to see your before and after transformation!

Step 3: Shape
I will begin mapping your brows using your facial features and natural brow shape. The shape that I create is always customized and tailored to your individual anatomy and main concerns. You will have the opportunity to see the pre-draw and recommend any suggestions or ask any questions. We always work together during the shaping process and take our time mapping your brows until the shape is exactly how you want them look.

Step 4: Colour Selection
Once the final shape is approved we will select the pigment colour. The colour we chose is always based off of your natural brow hair colour and skin tone. Though many clients think they want a darker brow, I always prefer selecting a colour that is conservative to the natural brow hair colour at the initial session. We will assess the fully healed colour at your touch-up appointment and if we feel that the colour is too light we can adjust the darkness if necessary.

Step 5: Machine Work & Numbing
I will begin using the machine to create your Powder Brows. I always like to do a small little patch on the brows so you can get a feeling for the machine on the skin before completing the rest of the brow. Numbing is always applied after I have completed 1 full pass with the machine on each brow.

Step 6: Reveal/Finishing Touches
As the brows get closer to completion, I will have you check them out in the mirror to get your opinion. Based on your opinion we will apply any finishing touches to make them perfect for you.

Step 7: Aftercare
After the procedure, we will go over the aftercare instructions that must be followed diligently. The better you follow the aftercare instructions the better your healed results will be.

Step 8: Touch-Up
In 4-8 weeks following your initial appointment, a touch-up session is needed to correct any imperfections that may occur during the healing process. All before and aftercare instructions apply to the touch-up appointment as well.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Please keep in mind that post-procedure expectations may vary based on skin type. PMU is a whole process. Most people are not in love throughout every step of the healing stages. Remain patient and trust the process.

Immediately after the procedure, the brows will appear darker than they will be once they are fully healed. The colour will soften about 30-40% once fully healed.

The treated area is sensitive and a little bit swollen and the surrounding skin may feel tight and slightly tender immediately after. If you have sensitive skin the pigment may appear warmer in tone or slightly red. This is not how they will look when fully healed. In 1-2 days when the redness in the skin begins to subside the colour will cool down. The brows may darken over the first 1-4 days as scabbing begins to form. Do not panic. As the scabs and dry areas within the brow area l begin to flake off and shed during about 1 week after, the brows will start to soften. The procedure area may feel itchy at this time, but it is important that you do not scratch or pick the area.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROBLADING AND POWDER BROWS?

Powder brows or Ombre or Microshading is a technique of depositing pigment into the skin with a machine and needle cartridge. It gives an illusion of a “fuller”, more “powdered “ or “coloured in” brow, and helps blend areas with very little hair to areas that have thicker, dense hair, ideal for all skin type and great for oily skin type, It lasts longer since it uses more pigment throughout the skin. Microblading is a technique of depositing pigment using manual hand tool (blade) to create hairstrokes. Microblading only ideal for people with dry or normal skin type.

I HAVE HAD PRIOR WORK FROM ANOTHER PMU ARTIST, CAN YOU WORK OVER TOP OF MY OLD PMU?

If you are hoping to have previous PMU covered or enhanced, please contact me to set up a consultation or send in photos of your brows clearly showing the existing work. I will review the photos and share what I think is best to move forward.

Please keep in mind that my goal for each client is to provide the best possible results. Though I would love to help make you love your brows again, it is important to understand that results are limited when existing work is present. If I feel that the existing work is too limiting to achieve an effective enhancement for your case, it is best that we do not move forward with the procedure. I will be more than happy to discuss with you some other options that are available for correction like brow tattoo lightening or removal.

Keep in mind that touch up prices are for existing clients only and do not apply to cover-ups from previous work.

CAN I WEAR MAKE UP TO THE PROCEDURE?

You are encouraged to come to your appointment wearing your makeup just like you normally would. We do not base our measurements or design off of your current makeup, however, knowing what look you are accustomed to helps us gage your expectation of the final product.

WHAT ARE YOUR CANCELLATION OR MISSED APPOINTMENT POLICIES?
